Telehealth also allows you to keep the same trusted counselor even if you move, so long as you remain in Florida.
Plus, telehealth allows you to involve an entire network of support, from family members and friends to teachers and other providers – who you include is up to you.
I think telehealth is right for my child. What do I need to do?
Call us at 888-SEEME03 (888-733-6303). We’ll contact you within 72 hours to set up your appointment and walk you through the process of setting up your online account and first appointment.
After that, simply make sure your child is logged in and in a place with an internet or data connection at the time of the appointment.
CHS understands that life can be busy and there isn’t always time or flexibility to fit one more appointment into your day … that’s why we offer telehealth counseling. You can feel at ease knowing your child is receiving counseling services from a qualified mental health professional AND you don’t have to travel to another office for the appointment.
What can I expect during my first telehealth session?
You may be uncertain about counseling in the beginning. Talking to someone you just met about things going on in your life can be a bit intimidating. The great thing about telehealth counseling is that you don’t have to go to an office … you can talk with your counselor where you’re most comfortable – whether it’s in your bedroom, living room, car, school or a quiet place in the park. You choose the location.
All you’ll do is log in to the secure website at the time of your appointment. Once your counselor is ready, you’ll be connected with video and sound, and your session will happen just like it would if you were to go to an office to see a counselor.
It’s up to you on how the counseling session goes. You’ll see and interact real-time with the counselor. Once your session is over, you’ll log out of the site and you or your parent/guardian will set up the next appointment.
