Jacksonville, Fla. (July 6, 2020) — Children’s Home Society of Florida (CHS), the state’s largest provider of services to children and families, has named Ernest Hamilton its new regional executive director serving Greater Northeast Florida.

Overseeing the First Coast, Gainesville and down through Volusia County, Hamilton will lead operations and business development, focusing on CHS’ core solutions in early childhood, behavioral health, child-welfare and community solutions including Community Partnership Schools.

CHS is the driver of child well-being in Florida — working to end the need for foster care as we know it by keeping more families safe, strong and together. Throughout the Greater Northeast Florida Region, CHS provides early childhood and in-home solutions that stabilize and strengthen families, counseling and telehealth, foster care, adoption and, most recently, the innovative community partnership school™ model that’s transforming outcomes in more than a dozen Title I schools including seven regionally – Edward H. White Military Academy of Leadership, South Woods Elementary, Webster Elementary and Wilkinson Junior High School, Orange Park High School, Keystone Junior/ Senior High School and Howard Bishop Middle School.

Hamilton brings with him more than two decades of experience in child welfare, child advocacy, mental health resources and non-profit leadership, management, and strategic planning. Most recently, he served as the Executive Director of Kids House of Seminole, Inc. He has also served as Executive Director of Rescue Outreach Mission of Central Florida.

Hamilton holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Bethune Cookman University and a Mini MBA from Rollins College Graduate School of Business Crummer Management Program.
