Who can participate in HealthConnect Home Visitation Program of The Children's Trust?
Women pregnant with their first child, pregnant and parenting teenagers, and parents with a child under age 5. You must live in a designated area of Miami-Dade County, but we welcome all qualifying families regardless of risk level, socioeconomic and/or legal status, ethnic background, or race.

How does it work?
When you join our program, you'll have a family coach dedicated to helping you provide a safe, positive, healthy home for your child(ren). Your family coach will meet with you in your home so your family is in comfortable, familiar surroundings.
What are family coaches?
Family coaches are professionals trained to provide health education and support in the comfort of your own home. During free pre-natal and post-natal home visits, your family coach will provide you with information and support to help your child have the best possible health and development outcomes
How can you help my family?
Your family coach will help you set and reach personal and family goals. We know parenting is tough, so we'll also teach you about:
- Infant and child development
- Positive discipline
- Injury prevention
- Pre-natal care
- Basic baby care
- Positive parent-child interaction
- Family planning
- Post-partum depression
What other special services will my family recieve?
Mommy, Daddy and Me Groups
Join other families at monthly support groups. Share tips, challenges and experiences. Learn more about helping your child reach developmental milestones. Walk away with more ideas to enhance positive interactions with your child. Each group also has an expert who can answer your specific questions.
Infant Massage Series
If your baby is between 2 months and 7 months old, then this series is for you. Under the guidance of a Nationally Certified Infant Massage Trainer, learn how to relax and console your baby, help your baby sleep better, relieve your baby’s gas and colic, and stimulate your baby’s brain development.
Pregnancy can be overwhelming! We’ll help ease your fears and prepare you for childbirth and motherhood. Learn more about pregnancy and nutrition, signs of labor, post-partum care, baby care, relaxation, breastfeeding, and family planning. All classes are facilitated by a trainer certified by the Florida Outreach Childbirth Education Program.
