Andry Sweet
President and Chief Executive Officer

Andry Sweet has more than three decades of experience in child welfare and behavioral health, and specializes in system transformation for Florida’s children and families. She previously worked in state government with the Department of Children and Families, office overseeing system of care improvements for children that were later adopted in statute.

Sweet joined Children’s Home Society in the early 2000s, overseeing the transition of child welfare services from government to the private sector.

She led innovative work at CHS, including the development and replication of Community Partnership Schools in Florida. She has held leadership positions for a variety of community boards, including the Heart of Florida United Way Council of Agency Executives, and the Children’s Cabinet of Seminole and Orange Counties. She was the chair of the Evans Community Partnership School Cabinet.

She is currently the Vice Chair of the Board of Children’s Home Society of America.

Kymberly Cook has more than two decades of experience in child welfare, juvenile justice and human services. She specializes in developing programs and partnerships to improve outcomes for Florida’s children and families. As EVP and Chief of External Affairs, she leads organizational operations including leadership and direction of the executive management team, and she oversees all of CHS' external affairs, including philanthropy, business development, communications, community engagement and advocacy. She joined CHS as executive director in 2008 and has continued to grow in her work to end the need for foster case as we know it.

As CFO, Barbara McDonald oversees the statewide business and financial management of the organization, as well as the financial management of the Children's Home Society of Florida Foundation. Barbara joined the CHS team with 25+ years of progressive Finance and Accounting experience.

Barbara McDonald leads the statewide business and financial management of the organization, as well as the financial management of the Children's Home Society of Florida Foundation. McDonald joined the CHS team with a depth of experience that includes more than two decades leading finance departments in the hospitality industry – including Walt Disney World Resort, Marriott, Starwood and Holiday Inn – as well as time with PricewaterhouseCoopers and nonprofit homeowner associations. McDonald holds her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Illinois, Masters of Business Administration from the University of Central Florida and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Marcus Johnson

Marcus has over 30 years of strategic leadership experience, including 20 years with the United States Army. Heather brings nearly two decades of health care and nonprofit leadership experience, including executive leadership experience at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, American Academy of Family Physicians, Kansas City Free Health Clinic and, most recently, Partners in Care Foundation in California. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated success in designing and implementing systems within community-based services, streamlining services to improve fiscal results and improving clinical productivity while reducing turnover. She also has expertise in health care financing and policy, and has a proven track record in advancing behavioral health initiatives. She is past president of the National Society for Social Work Leadership in Health Care and served on the Board of Directors for eight years.

With a passion for early childhood prevention services and trauma responsive care, Mary has served for over 25 years in both non-profit and government organizations, all with a focus on providing quality services to children and families. As Senior Vice President of Operations with CHS, Mary oversees programming in the area of Child and Family Development. Mary brings a unique perspective to this role through a Master’s of Arts Degree in Child Development, vast experience with children and families across varied settings, experience working with funding and grants and through personal experience as a proud mother of two adopted daughters.
