Lakeland Rotary Club beautifies Children's Advocacy Center
Thanks to the hard work and generosity of members of the Lakeland Rotary Club, Children's Home Society of Florida's Children's Advocacy Center in Bartow has a gorgeous new face.
Ed Owens, sergeant with the Polk County Sheriff's Office and a member of the Lakeland Rotary Club, devoted his time and effort to gathering the funds necessary to renovate the landscaping at the Children's Advocacy Center. More than a dozen members of the Lakeland Rotary Club joined Mr. Owens at the Center for a day of uprooting, tilling and planting.
"The Lakeland Rotary Club did an amazing job," says David Acevedo, Program Supervisor at the Children's Advocacy Center. "It is remarkable how a lush new look can make the center appear all the more inviting and can make our young visitors feel all the more comfortable. We are so thankful to the Lakeland Rotary Club for advocating for our community’s young victims."
