David A. Bundy, President and Chief Executive Officer

Dave Bundy, President and CEO of Children's Home Society of FloridaDavid A. “Dave” Bundy, President and Chief Executive Officer, joined Children’s Home Society of Florida in 1988 and was tapped for the top post in 2000, a pivotal time in the privatization of Florida’s child welfare system. Under Mr. Bundy’s leadership, Children’s Home Society of Florida played a prominent role in the dramatic reform of the child protection system as foster care and related services transitioned to private, community-based agencies. Mr. Bundy now leads a new charge: to be the driver of change in child welfare by identifying and implementing best practices proven to break the generational cycle of child abuse and neglect in more families.

An abuse survivor and tireless advocate for children, Mr. Bundy is frequently called upon to serve in leadership roles in the child welfare arena. He is a member of the Child Protection Improvement Advisory Board assembled by Department of Children and Families Secretary David Wilkins, and he participates on the board’s Workforce Development subgroup to address retention and responsibilities of child welfare professionals.

Mr. Bundy has also served on Governor Charlie Crist’s Transition Team on the Citizen’s Review Panel for the Department of Children and Families, held leadership roles for the Florida Coalition for Children, served on the Florida Mentoring Partnership Advocacy Council, and held membership in Leadership Florida.

Also active nationally, Mr. Bundy was invited in 2010 to present in Seattle to Foster Promise, leaders of Washington’s privatization effort, and to participate in the U.S. Senate Caucus on Foster Youth. He serves on the board of Children’s Home Society of America and co-chairs the group’s advocacy initiative. Mr. Bundy has also presented numerous times at Georgetown University duPont Executive Institutes.

He earned his Executive Master of Business Administration from Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla., and his Master in Education/Counseling and bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire.

Prior to joining Children’s Home Society of Florida, Mr. Bundy was the Director of the Division for Children and Youth Services for the State of New Hampshire under Governor John Sununu, Executive Director of the City of Manchester Office of Youth Services and Elementary Guidance Coordinator for Merrimack Valley School District in Penacook, N.H.
