Screening and assessment
To measure each child's progress, we use the Ages & Stages Questionnaire at least twice each. This respected tool enables us to gauge each child’s development as it compares to children of the same age.
We also use Developmental Portfolios to demonstrate each child’s growth and ability over time. These include anecdotal notes, work samples and photos of the child engaged in activity, such as involvement in our Learning Centers.
Children enrolled in our Voluntary Pre-K (VPK) program are assessed three times per year using the VPK Assessment Tool.
Creating individualized learning plans for children allows us to modify learning and classroom activities to best help each child with his or her development.
We welcome parents to join staff to review their child's Ages & Stages Questionnaire and Developmental Portfolios at least twice per year. Parents can be assured that our teachers use all screenings and assessments to enhance and individualize learning in the classroom.
