Meet our Director

Kathryn Schmidt brings more than 20 years of experience in the early education and care field. She graduated from Flagler College with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and is a certified teacher for Pre-K through 6th grade. During her many years in the education field, Kathryn has worked as a teacher and director, owner and operator of a home child care center, and child care inspector. She spent years educating other preschool teachers and supervising professional development, grants and quality enhancement efforts.

Kathryn uses her experience and education to further augment existing and develop new services at the Preschool at Evening Rose. Her goals include retaining highly qualified staff, including a certified or degreed teacher for each age level, extensive teacher training and professional development, environmental enhancements to ensure a seamless delivery of the curriculum and learning opportunities, and further development of a parent organization.
