Center for Applied Innovation

As CHS celebrates many achievements and advancements in more than 105 years of service, we also look forward to the day when our programs are no longer needed – when children are no longer abused or neglected, families are loving and nurturing, and every child is safe, healthy and prepared for life.

In 2006, our Board of Directors enthusiastically committed to a strategy to significantly impact children and families – breaking the tragic cycles of abuse and neglect. While we remain focused on providing our current, critical services, we're also taking the lead as our Center for Applied Innovation works to verify – and eliminate – the causes of generational abuse.

Goals of the Center for Applied Innovation are to:

  • Research best practices to benefit children and families.
  • Assist CHS’ 14 divisions to implement and collaborate on best practices.
  • Harvest and analyze vast amounts of data collected by our divisions.
  • Develop and distribute new products to benefit children, families and social work professionals.
  • Develop partnerships to improve integration of services to children and families, and to break down barriers borne of funding constraints and bureaucracy.
  • Generate high-quality training and publications based on field-tested and proven concepts.

Our Board of Directors, donors, volunteers and staff share the dream of breaking the tragic cycle of child abuse and neglect. We invite you to partner with us in making this dream a reality – help us end the living nightmares too many children still endure.
