Family & Individual Counseling

Families of children who are emotionally disturbed or who have behavioral disorders receive therapeutic support for personal growth and development and intensive support for serious or chronic mental health issues. A CHS team of coordinators, therapists and case managers provide guidance and specialized training to birth and/or foster parents, intensive therapy for children or linkage to mental health services.

Family Counseling and Therapy:
CHS professionals provide quality outpatient treatment programs that help families and children stabilize the circumstances in their lives, addressing social, emotional and physical issues. Couples, single parents and their children, and inter-generational or extended families benefit greatly from joint counseling.

Psychotherapy or counseling is also available to children and adults suffering from emotional, physical or sexual abuse or other relationship issues.

Group Counseling and Therapy:
In many instances, group sessions provide the most effective treatment for children and adults. Face-to-face therapy sessions involve as few as two or as many as 10 clients of the same general age range and who are dealing with group-appropriate issues. Group treatment is effective in dealing with behavioral issues, or addressing mental health needs and social problems.

Individual Counseling and Therapy:
Therapy for adults and children is tailored to address their very specific needs. The individualized care includes a structured treatment plan that identifies social, psychological and behavioral goals.

Crisis Intervention:
CHS also provides more intensive, therapeutic services needed to overcome an individual or family crisis, averting the need for more extensive services. After the crisis has passed, trained CHS professionals meet with individuals or families to identify the cause of the difficulties, involving members in creating realistic solutions to their family's challenges.
