Youth Transition Center

Imagine being a foster child and knowing that on your 18th birthday you’ll be homeless. This is what the state calls “aging out” of the system.

Where do they go from here?

Fortunately, Children’s Home Society of Florida (CHS) Treasure Coast Division is providing the solution – a Youth Transition Center. Serving young men and women ages 18-23, the center will help these youth earn a higher education, learn life skills, and find stable jobs and safe housing. Centrally located in Vero Beach, it will serve foster youth along the Treasure Coast.

The Youth Transition Center Capital Campaign is challenged with raising at least $5 million to build the facility consisting of six one-bedroom and three two-bedroom units. We’ve raised nearly $2.8 million. Now is the time to rise to the challenge and support our youth, who – through no fault of their own – have been abandoned, abused and neglected.
