Services Offered
Clinical Services
Individual, group and family counseling, medication management, and behavioral health services are provided to youth in foster care and residential group care, and to children in at-risk families in the community.
Early Childhood Education
In partnership with Daytona Beach Community College, we provide early education and childcare services (including voluntary pre-kindergarten) to children ages 2-4. Children are actively involved in a developmental program designed to promote each child's physical, cognitive, social and emotional growth. The program uses a blended curriculum of the Highscope, Active Learning Series and Montessori models.
Emergency Shelters/Residential Group Homes (Sunshine House, Brian's House, Destiny House)
We provide shelter and residential group care for children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect and/or abandonment. Each program provides a safe, nurturing, homelike environment with therapeutic treatment for traumatized children.
Sunshine House provides care for children ages 5-12.
Brian's House provides care for boys ages 13-17.
Destiny House provides care for girls ages 13-17.

Family Transition Program
Provides preventive services for families with children identified as, or at risk of, being abused or neglected. Counselors and Family Support Workers work intensively in the home to keep families together while parents learn life and parenting skills. We also serve families whose children have been removed, assisting parents with case plan compliance as they work toward reunification.
Foster Care
Specially trained foster parents work with CHS staff to provide a nurturing, family-oriented environment for children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect and/or abandonment. Foster parents, with the guidance and support of CHS staff, help the children develop basic life skills and values to become successful, productive adults.
Referrals accepted from CBC and DCF
Independent Living Program
Offers independent living skills training to youth ages 13-17 in foster care. The program provides educational and vocational support, career planning and employment services, housing and home management, budgeting, health care, transitional housing, and case management. Support services are also provided to youth who have aged out of the foster care system but are working and attending school.
Supervised Visitation (Family Treehouse and Family Harmony House)
The Family Treehouse and Family Harmony House Visitation Centers offer supervised visitation for non-custodial parents and their children. The centers promote the importance of visitation in the reunification process, help to strengthen family bonds, encourage positive parenting, provide a safe and neutral site for visits, and promote healthy attachments between parents and their children.
