South Daytona, Fla., November 14, 2005 -- The Children's Home Society of Florida (CHS), a statewide, private child welfare organization was founded on November 17, 1902. CHS began in Jacksonville, and through the years, expanded to include 14 divisions across the state. CHS provides a wide array of multi-faceted children's services, which have changed and expanded through the years to meet the current needs of children. The organization offers adoption, foster care, child abuse and neglect prevention, family and individual counseling, case management, clinical services, supervised visitation, emergency shelter, and residential group homes for children and families in Volusia and Flagler Counties.
