The Preschool at Evening Rose has immediate openings for children ages 12 months to 5 years. Here, your child will experience a safe, nurturing dynamic learning environment based on the nationally-recognized preschool curriculum as developed by Dr. Pamela Phelps. Children receive quality care in a nurturing environment. Highly trained team members guide children at appropriate stages through the creative preschool model curriculum Beyond Centers and Circle Time©.
Located at 3519 Easter Stanley Court, in Tallahassee, The Preschool at Evening Rose provides care for children from 6:45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Monday through Friday throughout the year. Meet the team
Kathryn Schmidt comes to the preschool with more than 20 years experience in the early care and education field. She graduated from Flagler College with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and is a certified teacher for Pre-K through 6th grade. During her many years in the education field, Kathryn has worked as a teacher and director, owner and operator of a home child care center, and child care inspector. She has spent years educating other preschool teachers and supervising professional development, grants and quality enhancement efforts.
Kathryn will use her experience and education to further enhance and develop services offered at the Preschool at Evening Rose. Her goals include hiring and retaining highly qualified staff, including a certified or degreed teacher for each age level, extensive teacher training and professional development, environmental enhancements to ensure a seamless delivery of the curriculum and learning opportunities, and further development of a parent organization.
CHS is proud to announce our affiliation with Dr. Pamela Phelps in the development of The Preschool at Evening Rose. Dr. Phelps has more than 40 years experience working with young children and their families. For the past 30 years, as the Owner/Director of the Creative Pre-School, she’s provided care for approximately 130 local children and developed The Creative Pre-School Model Program Curriculum: Beyond Centers and Circle Time©.
Dr. Phelps is active in state and national professional organizations and works tirelessly as an advocate for young children and their families. She has published articles in professional early childhood and special education journals, directed research in early childhood settings, and regularly conducts workshops for educators and parents on play and play environments, behavior management, and numerous other topics related to young children. Most recently, Tallahassee 25 recognized Dr. Phelps as a “Superhero" for her dedication and commitment to children.
