Holiday Drive 2011
Lauren, at only 6 years old, has gone through some traumatic experiences. Lauren's mother, Pam, was in an abusive relationship for many years, and Lauren was exposed to the boyfriend's drug use and violent outbursts. Many days, Lauren did not have anyone to take her to school and would go without eating dinner because her mother was arguing with her boyfriend. Pam eventually started to realize the negative impact this relationship was having on her daughter as well as herself, and she knew she needed help. That’s when she was introduced to Children’s Home Society of Florida (CHS).
Once a part of CHS, Pam and her caseworker created a safety plan, which gave them the ability to move away from the abusive situation. While things have been improving, Pam and Lauren are still struggling financially. Because of this, Lauren may miss out on her favorite family traditions this year.
We need your help!
With the holidays soon approaching, it is important to remember families like Pam and Lauren. The Mid-Florida Division of CHS has more than 2,000 children like Lauren who would appreciate your generosity so that they, too, can celebrate a joyous and magical holiday season. Help us make their holidays special.
YES, I would like to participate in the 2011 holiday gift drive!
