CHS Celebrates National Adoption Month

November is National Adoption Awareness Month!

Children's Home Society of Florida is celebrating its nearly 800 successful adoptions completed this year with several events. Here are some additional ways you can help support adoption!

Attend "Celebrate Adoption!" - Children’s Home Society of Florida will be hosting two annual “Celebrate Adoption!” events during the month of November.

The first event will be at Skate Station Funworks on November 8 at 5:30 p.m. in Gainesville. The second event will take place at Skating Palace in Lake City on Saturday November 19 at 6 p.m. At each of these events, community members come together to learn, play, sing, dance, eat, skate and celebrate one thing: adoption!

Advocate! Do you have your own website? Place a Children’s Home Society of Florida banner on your site, or suggest that your workplace do so for a day, a week, or the whole month of November! E-mail HelpFloridaChildren@chsfl.org to have a custom banner created just for you!

Donate new or gently used items to Children’s Home Society of Florida’s Thrift Store, or any of our local offices. We are always looking for family items, such as formula, diapers, or children’s clothing and shoes; educational items, such as photo albums, books, school supplies, and backpacks or suitcases; and safety items, such as cribs and new booster or car seats! These items are a great help to our families, and can be dropped off at the Family Treasures Thrift Store or any of our local offices:

Also, in recognition of National Adoptions month, we will be having our National Adoptions Day on November 21 at the Gainesville Courthouse with the Thanksgiving theme of "Thankful for a Forever Family." For more information about this celebration, please call (352) 334-0955.
