Young women of Kappa Delta embody philanthropy

Release date: 9/9/2009

Kappa Delta sorority at the University of South Florida has been instrumental in strengthening the community and directly impacting the lives of the children who find safe harbor at Joshua House. Over the past two years, the sorority sisters have raised funds for Prevent Child Abuse America through their "Big Man on Campus" philanthropy, and they’ve earmarked more than $31,000 for Joshua House.

Kappa Delta sisters are also regular volunteers, joining our children for Halloween trick-or-treating and the Polar Express Holiday Event at International Plaza, supporting our fundraiser at the CHS Blues Bash at Skippers Smokehouse, and collecting homecoming and prom dresses for the teen girls at Hansen House.

Kappa Delta Philanthropy Chair Lindi Niedner has served as a Junior Board Member on our Board of Directors, and Natalie Towey, President of Kappa Delta, has completed a number of volunteer hours in our Development Department.

This sorority has truly dedicated itself to giving to the community and inspiring others to do the same. Kappa Delta’s kindness touches the lives of numerous organizations and has especially touched CHS. Every day, these young women find ways to live out the values of sisterhood, philanthropy, academics, social success and leadership. We thank the sisters of Kappa Delta for keeping our children in their hearts.
