CHS welcomes Barbara Burt and Melissa Poole

The Buckner Division of Children’s Home Society of Florida (CHS) announces two new staff members, Barbara Burt as Director of Community Based Care and Melissa Poole as Director of Clinical Services.

Burt has worked in social services for 13 years. Prior to CHS, she worked at Family Support Services as a Contract Manager, including for CHS’ group homes. She has been in the management field for 17 years, including while in the Army for six years. She received her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at the University of Toledo in Ohio and obtained a master’s in management at Oakland City University in Indianapolis.

Already involved with CHS, Poole worked at the North Central Division in Tallahassee for four and a half years as a counselor and program supervisor of the child protection team. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a bachelor's degree in human services and development, both from Mercer University in Macon, Ga., and a  master’s in counseling psychology from the University of North Florida.
