Prepared for school ... and life

Starting another school year should bring feelings of excitement ... meeting new friends, connecting with a new teacher, learning and exploring for another year!

But too many children in our community dread the first day of school. Some have been victims of abuse or neglect and worry their peers will find out. Others worry classmates will notice that they don't have the right supplies or, since their parents are struggling just to get by, that their clothes no longer fit. No child should ever fear the first day of school.

That's why Children's Home Society of Florida is determined to provide children with a fresh start ... for school and for life. You can help!

While our children certainly need backpacks and school supplies, they need so much more, too. Counseling, guidance, safety.
